TERROIR

Zero chemistry in the vineyards and in the cellar, for me, this is natural wine

Our vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 60 to 300 meters above sea level. They are located in the southern part of the Monti Lessini and overlook the Venetian plain.

This hilly area is geologically characterized by formations of volcanic origin, consisting of basalt rocks that can be compact and columnar or blistered "cushions", derived from lava flows and volcanic vents of the Lower Miocene-Upper Cretaceous age.

The soil type in the Gambellara area is moderately weathered and moderately deep, with a silty-clay texture with incorporated debris, i.e. rocky fragments of a volcanic nature.

Soil is the fundamental basis from which you can obtain a balanced ecosystem

Without a living soil, rich in organic matter, it is difficult for plants to find an ideal habitat to grow and thrive. For this reason, the soil is always at the centre of our attention. We consider ourselves very lucky to have a volcanic soil, which is naturally very rich in microelements necessary for the life of microorganisms and the host plants.

Although the analyses carried out on the various production areas demonstrate great variability of composition (even at distances of 50 metres), a considerable quantity of iron, boron and manganese has been noticed in all the viticultural areas  - elements which determine and define the minerality in our wines.
